Every time I speak with people about home-sharing, whether at a presentation, a workshop or just in conversation, I like to share the definition of a good home-mate crafted by Annamarie Pluhar, a fellow home-sharing advocate and author of the book Sharing Housing: A Guidebook for Finding and Good Housemates.  Annamarie defines a good home-mate as “a person you like and respect whose way of living is compatible enough that you are comfortable living together.” In a recent blog Annamarie expands on this definition beautifully.  After reading her blog:  Are the Golden GIrls Home-Mates?  you’ll see that there is a big difference between just sharing a house and sharing a home!
